National Postal Week 2023 | India Post (DOP) National Postal Week starts from 09th October 2023
As you are aware that Department of Posts (DOP) celebrates National Postal Week every year, starting with World Post Day (Sth of October) on anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874. The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness about the post.s role in the everyday life of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global , social and economic development . This year's World Post Day them is Together For Trust'.
2. This year, the celebrations of National Postal Week have been designed in line with the emerging role of India Post in the socio and economic development of the nation. With focus on as Vittiya Sashaktikaran, Mail & Parcel Services like DNK, ONDP, tie up with Amazon and other retailers, bouquet of services for Antyodaya, National Postal Week 2023, activities are designed to inform and educate the last mile user, MSMEs and artisans about the changing role of post offices as one stop solution for delivery of services.
3. Following is the schedule for the celebration of World Post Day & National Postal Week 2023:
9th Oct 2023 (Monday)- World Post Day
10th Oct 2023 (Tuesday)- Vittiva Sashaktikaran Diwas
11th Oct 2023 (Wednesday- Philately Day
12th Oct 2023 (Thursday)- Mails and Parcels Day
13th Oct 2023 (Friday)- Antyodaya Diwas
4. The following activities have been planned/ proposed in this connection at Circle level.
i. Spruce-up and clean all Post Offices, mail offices and administrative offices. Removing of old hoardings/outdated notices to give a neat & clean look.
ii. Firm up various activities for Posta] week and contact schools for organizing events for children during Postal week informing them about new services of Post Offices .
iii. Plan and make arrangements for organizing Dak Community Development Program (Dak Choupal) events
iv. All Circle will prepare 5 videos (one video about an overview of the Circle and its intiatives,2 videos on customer testimonials, and 2 videos on postal employees/achievers, testimonials) and will share those with the marketing division by the 25th of september 2023.
5. Day-wise Activities :
5.1 World Post Day (9th Oct 2023, Monday):
(i) Display the UPU World Post Day poster and banner of National Postal Week 2023 (to be supplied by the Marketing Division) in all post offices and in all digital displays available in the post offices.
(ii) Press interactions at Gircle and Regional Headquarters, highlighting National Postal Week and events planned. Special focus should be on the latest products and services like Dak Niryat Kendra, collaboration with ONDC, Amazon, Aadhaar and other citizen centric services available at postal counters.
(iii) Livestreaming of UPU event on Social Media handles of Circle and Regions.
5.2 Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas (10th Oct 2023, Tuesday):
(i) Dak Community Development Program( Dak Choupal) to be organized by Circles, at least one in each division at grand scale with aclive participation of all stakeholders from central, state and local government
(ii) POSB Quizzes may be organized for the customers, agents, GDS, departmental staff, officers, etc. on this day.
(iii) Circles should put out a press release on the total outreach held during the day and how India Post is helping in financial inclusion of the remotest areas in the circle.
5.3 Philately Day: (11th Oct, 2023 Wednesday):
(i) Arrange interactive session at Schools for DHAI AKHAR - “Digital India For New India”.
(ii) Quiz & other activities should be arranged at maximum possible locations,
(iii) Seminars be arranged for Philatelists to promote Philately and provide PR to the event
5.4 Mails and Parcels Day (12th Oct 2023, Thursday):
(i) Customer Meet for bulk customers may be organized at Circle, Regional and Divisional level to inform customers about the new initiatives taken under Parcel Tracker and obtain their feedback on the services offered.
(ii) Workshops with Postmasters and delivery staff posted in field units (Delivery post offices/Nodal Delivery Centre) may be conducted through VC/physical mode by all Divisional Heads/Sub Divisional Heads on awareness to improve delivery efficiency. The focus will be on 100% delivery attempt on the day of receipt of parcels at Delivery Post Offices/NDCs, awareness about correct and effective utilization of Postman Mobile App by delivery staff, awareness about delivery of parcels at the doorsteps of the addressee by the delivery staff.
5.5 Antyodaya Diwas (13th Oct 2023, Friday):
(i) A seminar may be organised by each Circle where the officers of various Departments of respective State Governments dealing with the matters/schemes related to the upliftment of poor, marginalised and backward sections of the society shall be invited for a panel discussion.
(ii) Awareness cum Aadhar enrolment and updation camps be organized in ruraliremote areas and urban slums.
(iii) People be made aware about availability of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Social Security Pensions, Jan Suraksha Scheme (PMJJY, PMSBY, APY), Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts, AePS and other products and services of the Department of Posts.
(iv) Financial literacy campaign may be carried out to adopt safety measures while doing digital payments and to avoid online frauds.
(v) These camps shall be organized in rural areas, remote areas, urban slums, underdeveloped areas and undeveloped areas.
(vi) CSC Services enrolment - PM Kisan Registration, Ayushman Bharat, Shram Shakti Yojana, PM Jan Suraksha Schemes,
(vii) Delivery of PM Vishwakarma Certificates to beneficiaries
(vii) IPPB - GAG Policies for workers through institutional selling to factoriesivorkshop owners, business owners for their workers.
6. The list of activities given is only indicative and Circles may consider launching any additional significant activity during this period. Wide publicity may be given to the various events organised during this week through print, electronic and social media.
