Sub: Request for
temporary closure of Post offices in Hotspot
areas and High containment Zones of Maharashtra Circle.
Ref: My Federation
letter dated 17/04/2020.
Your kind attention
is invited the letter under reference wherein my federation request the Directorate
to issue orders to close down the post offices in the Hot spot area till the
normalcy restores.
Now my federation
came to know in Maharashtra circle particularly in Mumbai/Pune/Malegaon regions
more than 15,000 COVID-19 positive cases are reported it is most unfortunate
few postal officials are found positive apart from these two deaths of Postal
officials have been reported in Maharashtra circle these unsavory incidents
proved how this region affected badly.
Your office already issued an order exempting
the officials/officers in Delhi/NCR from attending the offices in containment
Zones vide Dte.No. AD-91/10/2020-Admin dtd. 28/04/2020. But this order is
applicable only Delhi/NCR.
Further the medical staff and
other personnel who work at frontline related to Covid-19 are provided with
PPE. The postal staff particularly delivery staff directly come in contact with
the customers directly while rendering service at door step. Only with minimum protective
gears they have to discharge duties. Provided such conditions compelling the
postal staff to perform in hotspots will have every chance of infecting the
virus. Not only they get infected in turn the virus may spread to others
through the postal staff. Therefore it's immediate requirement to close down
the offices in hotspots areas
Hence My federation once again requests the
Chairman Postal services Board issue necessary orders to close Post offices
Mumbai/Pune/Malegaon regions Hotspot areas and High containment Zones of
Maharashtra Circle till the normalcy restores.
My Federation strongly believes office your will
issue necessary orders to Maharashtra Circle.
