Decision to open counters of CSC in selected Post offices as a pilot
project.
It is most
unfortunate that the Department decided to open counters of CSC in selected
Post offices as a pilot project when the postal staff providing service to the
public without any extra remuneration during this crisis. when other players in the country either shut
their doors or offering service with special allowances during this period of
COVID-19.It is the Postal staff put their lives to risk and continued to work.
It is learnt according to MOU with CSC by the
Department, the CSC will provide following Postal Services to the public
through their Customer Service Centers, which will be integrated and
synchronized with the Core System Integrator (CSI) of the Department of Posts.
1. Booking of Registered and Speed
post articles.
2. Booking of Emo.
3. Acceptance of deposits in Post
office Savings Bank accounts.
4. Acceptance of PLI and RPLI
proposals and premia.
Surprisingly
and Shockingly the CSC will function in Post offices in a separate counteror
room allotted to it. I am constrained to say that this is the most
regressive decision. My Federation strongly
opposes this decision and requests the department to withdraw the decision
immediately.If Department open CSC in selected Post offices despite our
objections my federation no other alternative except starting agitation programme.
