RECRUITMENT OF SCs/STs IN VARIOUS GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS
1229 PROF. MANOJ KUMAR JHA:
Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:
(a) whether posts, reserved for
Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes in different categories under various
Departments/PSUs, are lying vacant, if so, the details thereof;
(b) the year-wise and category-wise details of appointments made during the last three years and the current year; and
(c) whether rules prescribed for appointment and promotion of persons
belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been adhered to?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH)
(a): Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) monitors the progress of filling up of backlog vacancies for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in respect of ten Ministries/Departments of Central Government, having more than 90% of the employees. The details of backlog vacancies in respect of SCs and STs in Central Government jobs are at Annexure-I.
(b): Details of reserved posts filled up by SCs and STs in Central Government jobs in direct recruitment and promotion during each of the last three year and the current year are at Annexure-II.
(c): As per information provided by various Ministries/Departments of the Central Government, the prescribed rules for appointment and promotion for SCs and STs are being followed by them.
