Lockdown, Day 34: What after May 3?

PM Modi today had a video meet with chief ministers to discuss the way forward for India beyond the May 3 lockdown deadline. Another extension of a complete lockdown may be out of the cards, but virus hotspots will, in all likelihood, remain shut.

The RBI today announced Rs 50,000-crore liquidity support for MFs following Franklin Templeton’s shock closure of six debt funds that threatened to trigger a chain reaction.

India reported 1,396 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total case count to 28,380. Almost 900 people have died in the country so far.
