Lockdown, Day 43: One more historic low

The price the Indian economy is having to pay for an almost two-month complete halt is getting higher and higher. The world's harshest lockdown has dragged the country's service sector to historic low, with the worst ever month-on-month drop in business activity during April.

Meanwhile, staying indoors has not turned out to be the solution India hoped it would be. As the country wobbles back on to its feet, Covid numbers have skyrocketed, with thousands of cases being added to the national tally each day.
