Lockdown, Day 30: Rising cases, falling growth

Locked-down India may be in its worst quarter since the mid-1990s. Fitch today slashed growth projections to 0.8% in the current 2020-21 fiscal, highlighting the hefty cost of shutting the country down for 40 days.

As India completes a month under lockdown, the country reported 21,700 cases, with 1400 cases being added in the last 24 hours. Testing in the country has gone up 33 times in the last 30 days, the govt said today.
