Attending seminar on present economics and labour problems at Bangalore . The seminar was organised by Anbekar institute of labour studies , ILR Mumbai and FES New Delhi. Dear friends the seminar on present and future economy and labour problems was organised by Ambekar institute of labour studies , ILR Mumbai and FES New Delhi held at Bangalore on 18th and 19th. In the Seminar INTUC Aiutc and various other trade union leaders participated. On behalf of FNPO I attended . There were serious and elaborate deliberations were carried out. I was part of one of the panel for discussion and I explained about the present economic scenario of the country. During 2008 the country was able to get through the recession because the buying power of the citizens was good and the country was then not depend upon exports alone. But present situation is different . It's said in India at present buying power reduced by thirty percent and various policies of the government have affected real estate, Various other Sectors and demand is reduced . Hence this time we are facing the heat of recession. The first hit will be on working class and many have already lost and will lose jobs in various sectors. About these aspects thorough discussion was carried out. The conclusion drawn was that in the changed scenario the need of the hour is consolidation of trade union activities/movement. It was agreed to form.JCA comprising all trade unions whether it is organised ,unorganised state and Central government employees. It's agreed that for any cause all trade unions should work in unity for common causes keeping aside idealogical differences. Thus the discussion was exhaustive and very effective.
