UNI and European banks commit to end sales pressure on employees
 
In an important step towards ensuring the provision of reliable and sustainable financial services, a joint declaration has today been signed by UNI Europa Finance and Europe’s bank sector employers. The declaration incorporates key measures to stop banks pressuring employees to sell irresponsible and unethical financial products.

The passing of a Staten Island Amazon worker should be a wake-up call for Amazon

When workers are willing to risk their jobs and go on strike because they are in harm’s way, Amazon management should listen to their concerns. Unfortunately, instead of rewarding the hard and often dangerous work of its warehouse employees, Amazon has fired those demanding that the company takes their health seriously and respects the protocols put in place to keep everyone safe.

Rescind the cease and desist order against Philippine TV network ABS-CBN
On May 5, 2020, just two days after World Press Freedom Day, the Philippine’s National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order that shut down the operations of the Philippine’s largest broadcast network, the ABS-CBN after its franchise ended on May 4, 2020.
