Accounting Technology -IT Modernization Project 2.0 -
In the upcoming IT Project 2.0, to simplify the accounting and ease the transparent flow of Cash based accounting, the existing accrual based double accounting system implemented through a COTS product viz., SAP, is to be replaced with a fully customized centralized system in accordance with the Government Accounting Rules and Department Rules of Accounting at each Office, agreed and consolidated at DDO level. This system will be termed as “DoP-FMS”, similar to PFMS of GoI, to facilitate internal accounting of “Consolidated Fund of India“ & “Public Fund” within DoP and maintains related information. DoP-FMS will be integrated with PFMS platform of Government of India to submit accounts data within the least possible time, preferably, on T+1 basis, by PAOs.
