Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:
RESERVATION TO IAS OFFICERS
(a) whether reservation is applicable to the IAS
officers belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the number of persons of the aforesaid
category who were promoted during the last three years, alongwith the details
thereof, State-wise; and
(d) the number of complaints received in this
regard during the above period?
ANSWER

(a) to (d): As per the policy of the Government,
the percentage of reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is 15%
and 7.5% respectively in respect of Direct Recruitment to Indian Administrative
Service (IAS). There is no reservation in promotion subsequent to their
appointment to IAS
