Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee Expired – Half Day holiday for Central Government Offices on 17.08.2018
As mark of respect to the former prime minister Government decided to observe 7 day mourning.
Half day holiday in the Afternoon of Funeral day will be observed by All Central Government Offices and Central Public Sector Enterprises throughout the Country -7 State Governments have announced holiday on 17.08.2018 as a mark of respect to late Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee , former PM.Delhi State Government, Haryana, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, Odisha and Assam State Governments have announced one day Holiday tomorrow for all Schools, Colleges, Government Offices and State PSUs to condole and as a mark of respect to passing away of Late Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee who breathed his last today (16.08.2018)
The Government of India expressed profound sorrow for the death of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India on 16th August, 2018, at AIIMS Hospital, New Delhi.
The Central Government has announced that as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, it has been decided that seven days of State Mourning will be observed throughout India from 16.08.2018 to 22.08.2018, both days inclusive. During this period the National Flag will be flown at half mast throughout India where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment during the period of State Mourning. It has also been decided that the State Funeral will be accorded to late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Smriti Sthal, New Delhi.
All Central Government offices and CPSUs across the country, and Delhi Government offices in NCT of Delhi will observe half day holiday in the afternoon of day of funeral.
As per the Latest News, State Funeral will be held in Smriti Sthal at 4.00 PM on 17.08.2018
